The migraine pain started suddenly. The disease usually begins at the age of 20 to 30 years. Currently, about 11 percent of the world’s elderly suffer from migraine headaches.
What is a Migraine?
Migraine is a particular type of headache. Starting from any one side of the head, it often hurts the whole head. This disrupts the normal blood flow to the brain. The arteries in the lining of the brain swell at the onset of a headache. Nausea and vomiting with headaches can cause hallucinations.
Not all headaches are migraines. Headaches can be caused by myopia, brain tumors, or other head problems. Migraine is a type of primary headache, which can be cured through regular treatment. The disease should be treated under a doctor and through regular checkups. this pain is not for any eye problem.
Causes of Migraines
In fact, medical scientists have not yet been able to come up with a definitive decision on the exact cause and cure of headaches. In a study on headaches in 1980, scientists found that tension often causes headaches and is easier to treat. When blood vessels do not adequately supply blood to the brain, many people identify it as migraine pain.
It can also be due to tension or other reasons. Moreover, if the blood vessels sometimes supply extra blood for any reason, headaches can occur. This pain is more severe than migraine pain; However, it can be misunderstood with migraine pain.
It is thought that the onset of migraine pain due to tension or natural causes reduces the blood supply to the brain – which has some effect on the function of two parts of the brain called the occipital and parietal. As a result, it starts to cause headaches as an adverse reaction. Again, when the headache begins, ultimately, the cerebellum’s arteries dilate – depending on the amount of 5-hydroxytryptamine in the blood.
However, scientists are still skeptical about the exact role of this element. The American Association for the Study of Headache is currently working to find the exact cause and cure for migraines.
Hereditary effects: Hereditary effects on migraine pain are more significant than on other types of pain – largely dependent on the characteristics of a single cell ‘gene.’ As evidence, a team of neurologists from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands isolated migraine-related genes from the body of a patient.
Later, the patient’s migraine pain was no longer seen—the leader of the research team. Michael Ferry published the same information by conducting research on 60 members of 10 families.
Tension / Anxiety / Instability: It is more prevalent among those who are always worried or anxious due to personal or family reasons. Moreover, any dangerous news or emotional state suddenly gives birth to this migraine.
Birth control pills and some sex hormones: According to researchers, there are certain sex hormones associated with headaches. However, it is more in the case of girls than boys. On the other hand, a team of researchers from the Department of Medicine at the University of Mississippi conducted a study on 100 women who did not menstruate regularly.
Again, in many cases, the pain of this migraine may arise in every menstrual period. On the other hand, women who have been taking birth control pills have more symptoms of this disease for a long time.
Environmental impact: Continued population growth in the world’s major cities is making the environment unbearable. Meanwhile, waste products and fumes from faulty vehicles have brought the background to a state where the effects are falling on our bodies. And migraine has been created as a cause of such an effect. According to a recent statistic, it is more prevalent among people in urban areas than in rural areas.
Factors that affect
First, certain foods increase the severity of this pain after ingestion, or if there is a feeling of mild discomfort, it can turn into a full-fledged migraine. Notable among them are the following foods:
(4) Cola drinks.
Second, if someone is a migraine patient suffers from inflammation of the sinuses or suffers from a severe cold, cough, or cold; In their case, this pain gradually increases.
Third, the incidence of migraine headaches gradually increases when the extreme heat and environmental conditions take on a steamy shape. On the other hand, if the cold air is more or, foggy conditions prevail in winter, the incidence increases.
Types of Migraines
Migraines are generally of three types. E.g.
- Migraine With aura or classic migraine;
- Migraine without ara or common migraine;
- Atypical migraine.
Symptoms of Migraine
Aura or pre-indicated migraine is evidence of some unique sensation within thirty minutes before the onset of the migraine headache. A migraine headache attack can be divided into several stages;
1. Prodermal or pre-symptoms can be noticed a few hours to a few days before the onset of the headache.
2. Ara or previous symptoms which occur just before the beginning of a headache. (C) the primary headache,
3. subsequent symptoms or post dermal stage, although most patients suffer from multiple sets. However, it is not necessary to diagnose at any one time.
A few hours or a few days before the onset of the headache, 50-60% of migraine sufferers have mental, neurological, autonomic, and other symptoms.
Some of them suffer from depression, hilarity, drowsiness, over-consciousness, over-enthusiasm or irritability, calm slowness. Some people experience nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, thirst, etc. Sometimes there is an interest in certain foods that are not usually eaten. However, many people do not understand these symptoms. Early symptoms are essential for immediate treatment of migraines.
In the later stages of a migraine headache, the patient usually becomes tired and exhausted as if a massive amount of physical exertion has been disturbed. Also, at this time, he can not think of anything. Nausea, loss of appetite, body aches, etc., may last for a day or two. However, these are not so severe that treatment is not needed.
Migraine without Aura
It is also called common migraine. Its incidence is much higher than the non-migraine. This headache lasts for 4-62 hours and may have at least any of the following two symptoms.
- Half head pain;
- nausea or vomiting;
- fear of light or fear of sound;
- have experienced at least five such headaches in the past and have no internal brain disease;
- Migraine with Aura
At least fifteen percent of migraine patients may perceive an impending headache attack according to some of the symptoms before their headache starts. These patients usually see a flash of light in the eyes within half an hour before the headache’s onset, darkening of the front part of the eyes, high and low roads, evil eyes, etc. Sometimes the patient feels abnormalities of unique sensations in the body part. Some people may have body numbness for a while and may have abnormal speech.
Headache treatment can vary due to several factors. Usually, the treatment for migraines depends upon how frequently they occur,
1. Abstain from foods that accelerate migraine pain.
2. If a woman continues to take birth control pills, she should stop taking medications and take any other alternative method.
3. If you have to go out in the middle of smoke or dust or extreme heat or cold air due to environmental reasons, you have to use a mask or handkerchief.
1. Pseudoephedrine, amitriptyline, beta-blocker drugs are effective in reducing recurrent migraine attacks.
2. Paracetamol, aspirin, diclofenac is effective when the headache starts. Medoclom Promide, Domperidone can be used to reduce nausea.
3. Some patients feel much better with Sumatriptan and Argotamine if the medicines, as mentioned above, do not reduce headaches.
Above all, adequate rest and stress management can help prevent the disease’s recurrence in many cases. Remember, not all headaches are due to migraines, but also due to myopia, brain tumors, bleeding in the head, etc., in which case the advice of an ophthalmologist and a neurologist is required.
