Tips for Disney World First-Timers

June 22, 2017

Take it slowly and enjoy the thrill. Try as much as possible to resist the craving to see everything at a fast speed, and take the time to enjoy the many niceties offered at your resort. You can’t probably see everything, so take it as your first trip to Disney world and not your last. In your next go-round, there will be time to pick up what you missed on the first trip.

Visiting Disneyland

• Ruminate ahead. Decide your priorities early enough before your vacation begins and take a chance to plan out each day in advance.

Visiting Disneyland

• Try and get to the parks early! It’s wonderful, particularly in full season, how many of the prevalent rides you can knock off before half the “World” wakes up.
• Arrange for a rest in the middle of the day especially if the parks are open till late or you have children in tow. Stay at one of the Epcot resorts or the Magic Kingdom allowing a stress-free return to your resort in the mid-day for a plunge in the pool or a nap.

• Call or check online exactly 180 days before for dining reservations if you are interested in a meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table or in the Magic Kingdom. It’s only during the extremely slow season that you can get away with sleeping in and booking a bit later

Visiting Disneyland

• Come ready for an afternoon shower in the rainy summer months even when the sky appears clear in the morning. Lease a locker to store your rain gear and remember to start circling back if skies start to look frightening. However, if you’re caught impromptu, do not panic, just about every store in the parks sells reasonably priced rain ponchos.
• If a lounge chair is a priority to you, then you have to arrive at the water parks at opening time or, better yet, pre-reserve one of the premium beach chair spaces or private cabanas. And remember that during the busy summer months, water parks are mostly filled by mid-morning and new guests are kept from entering until late afternoon.

• You can use Disney’s FastPass+® option that allows up to three FastPass+ attractions each day to be booked 60 days before arrival.

Visiting Disneyland

• You can also make Advance Dining Reservations, especially in the peak periods of the year to save hours of waiting and getting frustrated.

• Let plenty of time to get to the theme parks every morning. You can easily miss your breakfast reservations when enough time has not been allowed.

Visiting Disneyland

• Be carefully spontaneous. If attracted to something, even if it’s not on your daily routine, be ready to stop over and explore it, or you may miss out on something magnificent.

• When you visit Disney world Be in harmony with the limitations of your children. If they’re tired go for a break; if their feet start to hurt get them a stroller if a ride seems frightening to them don’t force the issue. This will make your day and that of the other park visitors much less hectic.

While visiting Disney world wear broken-in, comfy footwear. Better yet, bring numerous pairs and rotate them. Nothing is worse than having blisters on your first day and then saddled with nursing them for the rest of your vacation.
